# weekly-review.txt - The prompt I paste once a week so the AI reads my actual week (calendar, notes) against my P1 and updates my now file. # This is the loop that makes the second brain compound: review, learn, update, repeat. Run it the same day each week. # Char budget: keep under ~3500 characters. Replace every [BRACKET]. The Sam Rivera content is a fictional worked example. === WHAT THIS FILE IS === This is a prompt I copy and paste to the AI at the end of each week. It tells the AI to read what actually happened (calendar, notes, weekly log), compare it to my priorities, and then update my now file with what it learned. I run it every [Sunday]. The AI does the reading and drafting; I approve the changes. Owner: Sam Rivera, 38, freelance marketing consultant, Lisbon. === THE PROMPT (paste everything below to the AI) === Run my weekly review for the week ending [DATE]. First, read: - my calendar for the last 7 days, - my notes and weekly log, - my focus-priorities file (P1/P2/P3 and "not now"), - my now file (current focus per sphere). Then answer these questions, short and honest: 1. What actually happened this week? Three to five bullets, no padding. 2. Where did my time really go? Roughly what share went to P1? 3. Did the P1 measure move? By how much, in numbers if possible. 4. What did I say I would do last week and did not? Why? 5. What went better than expected, and what should I keep doing? 6. Did any "not now" item quietly eat hours? 7. What is the one thing that, if done next week, moves P1 the most? 8. Any sphere drifting (body, money, people, work) that I am not looking at? 9. One insight worth remembering, in a single sentence. 10. What in my now file is now out of date? 11. Did anything change my priorities? Is P1 still right? 12. One win to acknowledge, however small. === INSTRUCTION BLOCK (what the AI does after answering) === - Be plain, not flattering. If the week was weak on P1, say so and ask what blocked it. - Use real numbers from my calendar and notes, not vibes. - Draft the updated now file: revise "this week", refresh the per-sphere lines that changed, and add one dated entry to "recent insights" (keep max 4, drop the oldest). - Show me a short diff of what you are changing before you save. Wait for my OK. - Move anything older or overflowing into the weekly log instead of deleting it. - Keep the now file inside its char budget. If a sphere is too long, trim to the one thing that matters now. - End with one suggested next step for P1 and offer to draft my public accountability update (1 win + 1 next step). === HOW THIS FITS THE LOOP === The review reads the week, the now file gets updated, and next week starts from a current picture instead of a blank screen. That is the whole loop: the more weeks I run it, the more the AI knows what my real patterns are.
